Another day, another dollar…to spend, while you’re doing something cool in Jacksonville! Looking for a baseball game to drink on some brewskis? Looking for some painting classes? Looking for something else? Jacksonville has your back!

Come one, come all, and spend another dollar on another fun festivity.

– Love a good night of trivia and feel you are a Seinfeld junkie? Head to Lola’s Burrito & Burger Joint for some Seinfeld Trivia at 7:15 PM! There are 4 challenging rounds that specialize in cockfighting, mail fraud, headfirst parking, and pee-stained couches. So if you know why those are the topics, then you’re probably Seinfeld-enough to participate. They really push for you to make a reservation if you want a table, but you can participate in trivia regardless.

– If you’re looking for some new decor for the house but can’t find anything good, try a DIY Workshop for that personal touch! Hosted at Paisley Grace Designs, this fun workshop lets you choose from over 300 designs in all shapes and sizes to create your own unique wooden sign. It is also BYOB so don’t forget the booze for a little extra way to let loose.

– One of Jacksonville’s most popular events, a Jumbo Shrimp game is the spot for some never-ending fun…well until the game is over. On the 28th, the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp play the Montgomery Biscuits at 7:05 PM. You can get a ticket for as low $9. Better yet, Thursdays they offer a $1 beer special. All in all, you can have a boatload of fun for only $10! Get it, boatload? Because of shrimp? Don’t let the pun take away your fun (now, I rhyme).

– If you are the artistic type or you read, MOSH After Dark: Painting the World, and are thinking “Um, not me”, this is still a super cool way to learn and create art. At 6 PM, artists from Still Life With Cat Studio help everyone through the step-by-step process of painting a landscape from a photograph, AND you walk away with your own work of art on canvas! There is also an opportunity to explore their newest traveling exhibition. The event typically costs $25 and includes 2 drink tickets. Paint away and drink away, friends.

– At Daily’s Place Amphitheater downtown, The Wheels Of Soul Tour rides again this summer and is coming to Jacksonville! With the Tedeschi Trucks Band as the stars of the show, be prepared to come in skeptical and come out feeling the ENERGY. Tickets are as low as $49 so if you don’t have much going on and want a good atmosphere, head there! If you’ve never heard of this American blues rock band, they have a husband-and-wife team of Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, plus the musicians and music professionals who are part of the band’s ongoing journey.

– Starting at 8 PM, join Beats “N” Brushes – a DIY Painting workshop with a Pinterest Twist – for live music from a local DJ, complimentary beer and wine, and an interactive painting class! With the ticket price at $50, it may seem a bit steep, but you get the chance to hang out at the Jacksonville Landing and create a beautiful wood sign, with FREE alcoholic beverages. So prepare your paint brushes (actually, they have those for you) and get the party started.

– Void’s Sip ‘N’ Slide is one of the best events of the year, and how could it not be?! When you’re mixing drinks and water slides, Adventure Landing holds an early 4th of July party with live music and free parking! Tickets are only $25 and you are given a locker with a code to hold your belongings. Bring all of your friends (and your GoPro), get your buzz on, and just party on while you sip and slide.

Thirty Seconds to Mars is coming to Jax this week! At the Daily’s Place Amphitheater, this well-known rock band will be jamming out to start off July. Tickets are as low as $20 if you are okay with standing in the general admission area. With a good group of friends and a good spirit for fun, this is just what the soul is craving.

– One of my absolute personal favorite movies, Grease, will be showing at The Florida Theatre in Riverside starting at 2 PM. If you are, or were ever, a John Travolta fan (or even if you hate him but you love romance movies), come watch the sparks fly between Danny and Sandy. Ticket prices are a measly $7.50, so don’t be like Danny and almost lose the girl, because she is on the TV screen on July 1st!

– World Cup fever has been here over a week, but at Fionn MacCool’s Irish Pub & Restaurant at the Jacksonville Landing, the main World Cup Watch party goes down on July 2nd. Starting at 11:30 AM, bring your friends and get some mimosas while you revel in the daily specials and soccer games on the big screens. There is no shortage of soccer time, as this event goes on until 5 PM. So relax and get ready for some fútbol.

– Maybe you missed the game last Thursday or you loved it so much, you want to go again. Whatever the case, there is another! The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp play the Montgomery Biscuits once again at 7:05. This specific game is dedicated to the nonprofit River City Pride organization! Never fear, the jumbo shrimp are here.

– Here’s an interesting one. The Alewife Craft Beer Bottle Shop will be hosting a beer school at 6:30 PM that teaches the class about the diverse beers from Belgium and northern France. And of course, there is plenty of beer tasting. The class is $25 and is led by a certified cicerone! You might feel you suffer through a bit of educational boredom, but it all is super fun and super interesting when there’s beer on the line.

– The very first and third Tuesday of every month, Twin Hearts Meditation occurs from 6-7 PM. This advanced meditation technique is FREE and helps all people alike to achieve a relaxed focus on their thoughts. You might think it sounds a bit like witchcraft but the goal of this service is to bring a more positive awareness and harmony to the community. If you’re all about working together for a good goal, give this a try.

As the new week begins and you’re feeling a bit bored, explore Jacksonville for some fun opportunities. There are plenty of events around town and plenty of partying to be done, so make sure to share your fun with us by tagging #FrayLife #JaxFray on social.

Need more awesome ideas for things to do this week? Why not hang out at a bar where the views are amazing as the drinks.
