Christmas decorations are already in stock, and holiday tunes are on the radio. BUT let’s not forget about Thanksgiving! What’s better than stuffing your face with amazing food and spending quality time with your family? So, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, check out all the fun events going down in Jax this turkey season. 

Saturday, November 23

Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway

Who wants to try their luck at a raffle with the chance of winning a free turkey for Thanksgiving dinner?! Me, me, me! Harvest Festival

The Harvest Fest at Brooks Mandarin Clinic is a great way to start celebrating the season early! With crafts, face painting, a live DJ and tours of the new clinic, this event is a family-friendly affair and a great option if you’re in need of something to do. Friendsgiving 

Friends, live music, growler specials, beer releases and more… Wicked Barley is hosting their fun-filled version of Friendsgiving! Come on out to eat, drink and be thankful! (Wicked Barley Brewing // 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. // Menu Costs)

Friendsgiving Trivia

Lola’s is well-known for its Wednesday night trivia, but this week is special! In honor of festive spirits, trivia will be specifically about Friends Thanksgiving episodes. You’ll need to register your team (for free) online! We recommend spending some quality time together and binge-watching Friends beforehand. Champagne Brunch

Embassy Suites is providing the goods this Thanksgiving– complimentary mimosas, omelets prepared to order, home fries, potatoes, poached eggs, soups, salads and SO much pie. Hope & Deliverance Community Dinner

Not everyone has the means for a huge feast on Thanksgiving. Luckily, we have Hope & Deliverance Ministries to help out! They’re having a Thanksgiving Community Dinner at the Ketterlinus Gym, so feel free to sign up to take part in grubbing out or to volunteer. (The Ketterlinus Gym // 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. // Free)

Thanksgiving at Myth

We already know that Myth Nightclub is popping, but they have BIG plans for Thanksgiving. After you’ve spent time with your family during the day, play with your friends at night! With 3 rooms and 3 DJs, this Thanksgiving celebration is sure to be wild. (Myth Nightclub // 10 p.m. – 2 a.m. // Cover Charge)

Thanksgiving Distance Classic

Everyone loves a good Turkey Trot. And, of course, one of the best parts is the free refreshments, fruit and bagels that will be available after the race! Plus, there are plenty of course options– 5k, half marathon, or 1-mile. You’ll have to get up early– this one starts at the crack of dawn! (Platwick Plaza // 6:50 a.m. // $10+)

#FrayLifeTip: This race is also a part of the Grand Prix schedule, which awards cash and prizes by the end (peep the website for details).

Fishweir Brewing Thanksgiving Day 5K

We all need another reason to drink good beer and celebrate everything Thanksgiving at Fishweir Brewing! Their 5k encourages good food, good drinks and good vibes. (Fishweir Brewing // 8 a.m. // $10)

Tony’s Turkey Trot for Brain Injury Awareness

This 5th annual fundraiser and 5k is back with all of its gusto! In the quaint area of Atlantic Beach, prepare to run in Folio Weekly’s “Best of the Beaches” 5k! Food vendors, face painting, a photo booth and a pumpkin pie eating contest make this event one of the best runs around town. (Downtown Atlantic Beach // 8 a.m. // $15+)

Aside from thinking about turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing this Thanksgiving, you can also mull over all the fun events in Jacksonville! Well, dear friends, gobble ‘til you wobble…
