River City Haunts at Bold City Downtown
River City Haunts exposes the darker side of Jacksonville with tales of how the city has endured many epidemics, horrors, and injustices. Led by the ghost of Isaiah Hart or his son Ossian, you will be guided by lantern through the streets and back alleyways. About a 15 block walk. After the Downtown walking tour, you are also welcome to join your guide for an optional saunter through Old City Cemetery, the first public burial ground to see the final resting place of many early settlers as well as Large Marge. The tour starts at 8pm from Bold City Downtown brewery (109 E Bay St); arrive early to try the rotating selection of craft brews. Farm to Fork at Green Legacy Farm
The evening will start with a farm tour led by Ashantae Green, FarmHer/ Co-Owner of Green Legacy Farm at 5:30 PM. During the tour, you will have a unique opportunity to see where food comes from & to learn how the specific ingredients to be enjoyed during dinner were grown. Dinner will begin after the tour with the 1st course served at about 6:00 PM. Andrea Bryant-Smith Award-winning chef, owner of Mena’s Legacy Kitchen & Co/Owner of Farmery Bakery & Bodega will take guests through each course and share more about their flavors to guide the farm-to-fork experience. Not only do we grow & share some amazingly delicious organic produce… but ” We Grow Community” as well. Nerd Night – Halloween Edition at Six Three Four Jax
As with the previous events cosplay is encouraged but not required. This is a hangout event when you can come hangout and chat with fellow nerds about anime, video games, music, business, etc. Event is Halloween themed so wear your best costumes. There is also a cosplay/costume contest so may the best costumes win. Secret Jacksonville walking tour
Writer Bill Delaney, co-owner of TheJaxsonMag.com and Edible Northeast Florida Magazine, has spent years researching Jacksonville’s underknown and underrepresented stories. His book Secret Jacksonville: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure is dedicated to profiling the forgotten, mysterious and just plain interesting spots across Jacksonville and the First Coast. Join him for a walking tour of of some of these places around Downtown Jacksonville.
