Built to Spill, The French Tips and Orua at Jack Rabbits Live

Formed 30 years ago by guitarist/songwriter Doug Martsch, Built To Spill have grown to become something of an indie rock institution, releasing ten reliably catchy, unique LPs full of innovative guitar work and quirky songwriting. While the lineup has changed over countless times, Martsch remains at the center, a guiding force as the band carries on into its fourth decade. The show’s opened by Boise-based indie rockers The French Tips and Brazilian psych rockers Oruã. $25; 7pm; 1528 Hendricks Avenue Jacksonville, FL; jaxlive.com // @jaxlive_presents

PUP, Palehound and The OBGMs at Intuition Ale Works

Rowdy Canadian punk band PUP have become a cult favorite among aging punks and indie rockers alike, thrilled by the boundless energy of their live shows and the songwriting on display on their dynamic LPs. The vibes are relentlessly positive at PUP shows, with massive crowds shouting along to their songs about self-loathing and self-destruction. In something of an unusual pairing, the wistful, downtempo Palehound opens, alongside The OBGMs, a Toronto-based punk band (much like PUP themselves). $27; 8pm; 929 E Bay Street Jacksonville, FL; intuitionaleworks.com // @intuition_ale_works

Johanna Warren at Heartwood Soundstage

Though she was born in St. Petersburg, Johanna Warren is now based in Wales, and rarely makes it back to this neck of the woods. Touring in support of her forthcoming album “Lessons for Mutants,” Johanna is returning to her home state with an intimate performance at Gainesville’s Heartwood Soundstage. Advance singles like “Piscean Lover” and “I’d Be Orange” show that Warren’s never been more confident with sound, getting experimental with production and dynamics in fresh and exciting ways. $12; 8pm; 619 South Main St. Gainesville, FL; heartwoodsoundstage.com // @heartwoodsoundstage

Jack White and Cat Power at The Saint Augustine Amphitheatre

Jack White’s had a busy 2022: he released two studio albums this year, April’s “Fear of the Dawn” and July’s “Entering Heaven Alive,” his Supply Chain Issues world tour had him spending most of the Spring and Summer traveling the US and Europe and just embarked on another monthlong tour of the US. White’s live show commands attention, especially considering he’s an avid proponent of the Yondr pouches that lock your cell phones away while inside the venue. For this tour, he’s joined by very special guest opener, the always magnetic and captivating Cat Power. $35-$75; 6pm; 1340C A1A South St. Augustine, FL; theamp.com // @theampsa
