Monday, October 1

Cocktails and Conservatives – At Brio Tuscan Grille, property appraiser Jerry Holland will be going over the upcoming amendments on the ballot in November. For anyone interested in politics and socializing, come on out at 6 pm. Your 1st drink is on the house!

Pumpkin Festival + Fall Market – With this all-day event starting at 11 am at Wicked Barley, party with all things PUMPKIN to get into that fall spirit! There will be pumpkins you can purchase, local vendors, live music, and craft beer. Sounds pumpkin-perfect (not my best pun…).

Jax Beach Fitness Festival – Held at the SeaWalk Pavilion, the Jax Beach Fitness Festival is going to be an intense showdown to see who is TOUGH. With various contests and a 100 meter swim, these competitors are going to feel the pressure to perform. There will be apparel for sale and local vendors! Don’t miss watching them as they work out like crazy, while you sit back and sip on some beer.

Cornhole Tournament at Oktoberfest – The Beaches Oktoberfest is back again! This festival is always a blast, but get in on the action with the cornhole tournament this year. From 1-5 pm, intense cornholers (is that a word?) will be strutting their stuff. You can register a team for only $30.

Sunday, October 14

Jags vs. Cowboys – With another away game, find a place to cheer on the Jags as they take on the Cowboys at 1 pm. The spot I recommend for a great game is Time Out Sports Grill. With drink specials, a great menu, and tons of TVs, you can get in on all the action with your pals.

Tuesday, October 16

Fall Indoor League – We all love basketball and we all love when we can join a good, ole’ fashioned basketball league. Join the Jacksonville Ultimate League for some basketball at Jacksonville Ice and Sportsplex at 7 pm. It goes on from October 16th to November 27th, so you’ll get plenty of chances to shoot some hoops.

The Struts – For anyone that appreciates English rock, the Struts are coming to Mavericks in Jacksonville! Doors open at 6:30 for this happening concert. I hear the band has complete attire changes and killer vocals, so don’t miss out if you like a good show and even better music.

Friday, October 19

13th Floor Haunted House – The world’s largest Halloween-themed entertainment company wants to awaken the deepest fears of Jacksonville residents. With 3 new attractions, Thirteenth Floor will be near the Regency Square Mall to bring on the spookiness and make you wish you stayed home… but in a good way.

Saturday, October 20

Thrill Ride Eco Tour – Does anyone want a guaranteed marine wildlife sighting?! Head on over to Crazy Fish and let them give you a fun 1.5 hour airboat ride on the Intracoastal where everyone sees dolphins, gators, manatees, and much more. ESA Surf Contest – I’ve said it before and I will say it again, Jacksonville LOVES surfing. This Sunday from 8-3, another surf contest is coming our way! Held at the pier, watch the shredders shred the gnar at the ESA Surf Contest.

Monday, October 22

The Old Spanish Trail Haunted Attraction – The thing that makes this one extra creepy is that you’re outside…in the dark. This 200 year-old historic property is legitimately haunted, like for real. You trek through some dense woods while actors have been put in the forest for some extra scary shit. Don’t say I didn’t warn you…

Spooky Stretch Glow Yoga – Yoga seems to be the newest exercise trend in recent years, but how much cooler is it when you do it at night…on the beach…with glow sticks? SUPER COOL. From 6:30-8:30 pm, head to 429 1st Street S. in Jax Beach to get your glow on.

Friday, October 26

Rough N’ Rowdy Brawl – Who doesn’t love watching a bunch of rednecks box? With insane, unpredictable action in the ring, Rough N’ Rowdy is the funniest, most action-packed 4 hours you’ll see in the ring. As they say, “You’re doing yourself a disservice by not buying it.”

Saturday, October 27

Florida vs. Georgia Tailgate – Everyone knows that the Florida vs. Georgia game doesn’t matter, but the tailgate is the most important event on earth. Known as “The World’s Largest Cocktail Party”, there are a ton of spots to tailgate. But you should definitely try out the Tailgate Party Committee’s event at 111 Liberty St. complete with food, beer, and flat-screen TVs!

Sunday, October 28

Jags vs. Eagles – This game is going to be HUGE. Taking place in London, the Jags will be playing last year’s Super Bowl champions! Every Jags fan should be tuned in and watching. Surfer is holding another watch party for anyone that wants to socialize, get buzzed, and watch the Jags dominate.

Monday, October 29

FREE Yoga – Who needs to stretch out and get relaxed…for FREE? Florida Blue is hosting free yoga classes that are open to the community. From 5:45 to 6:45, come be a yogi and find that peaceful zen.

Wednesday, October 31 HALLOWEEN

Halloween Dance and Costume Party – For a lot of us that have outgrown the trick-or-treat days (some of you maybe haven’t), we need something fun to do on Halloween. And we usually want alcohol. Grape and Grain Exchange is throwing a dance party, where best costume gets a prize. Bring your best costume ideas and friends, and do the monster mash.

You can all say there is no shortage of haunted, spooky events, or pumpkin picking parties! Jacksonville is keeping it fresh this October for the fall and also bringing some spookiness for those of you that are bold enough to go.
