Fall is upon us and that means ‘tis the season for a trip to the pumpkin patch. From October 1-30, check out Amazing Grace Family Farms in Green Cove Springs, just on the outskirts of Jacksonville.

Amazing Grace was founded in 2013 by owners and operators Justin and Kelly Mosley. The Mosleys boast a history of excellence in farming: The couple won 2010 Florida Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher Excellence in Agriculture Award, and placed in the top 10 in Florida’s American Farm Bureau YFR Excellence in Agriculture Competition.

Kelly Mosley explains the family’s idea behind the farm’s name: “Amazing Grace represents what is most important to us: faith, family and farming.”

Their mission is to stay committed to being good stewards of God’s blessings by providing safe, family-oriented entertainment, while teaching visitors about the agriculture industry.

Several attractions are open this fall season, including a corn crib, jump pads, barnyard ball zone, crop maze, barnyard bounce corral, duck races, cow trains, a Gaga ball pit and more. Pumpkins and concessions are also available for purchase.

Kelly Mosley notes the crop maze and pumpkin patch are only available during the fall season – but to stay tuned this spring for the sunflower patch.

“It turns out we only had a small sunflower patch this year – they bloomed the first two weekends of the season,” she says. “But keep your eyes peeled for some new flowers in spring 2022.”

The farm also hosts fall school field trips – complete with an agriculture lesson and a Spookley the Square Pumpkin reading – and accepts appointments for family photography sessions.

For a fun fall day at Amazing Grace Family Farms, purchase tickets online or in-person. One good-to-know tip: online tickets are discounted $4, from the $18 in-person rate. Tickets include entrance to the pumpkin patch and crop maze, plus access to select attractions.

During the month of October, Amazing Grace is open on Fridays from 5-10 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. The farm is also open during the spring, with 2022 dates TBA

In terms of activities that visitors enjoy most, Mrs. Mosley says: “Moms seem to enjoy all of our photo opportunities. Kids really enjoy the corn crib and the bounce pads. Dads have been enjoying the new hula hoop cows and the barnyard ball zone.”

At this time, Amazing Grace has no plans to expand the farm or create new locations: Justin and Kelly Mosley are too busy with their daughter, Maggie Grace. The couple endeavors to build a Chris-centered home on their sixth-generation family farm.

Amazing Grace Family Farms offers a special ‘feel of fall’ in Florida. For anyone craving some fun on the farm, drop by Amazing Grace this October.
