Kravegan

The lovechild of chef LaTasha Kaiser, Kravegan has an incredible selection of decadent vegan and plant-based cuisine found in the most unusual of locations: the food court of the Orange Park Mall. LaTasha was inspired to explore the world of plant-based cooking after going vegan about six years ago, riffing on family recipes to create soul food-influenced dishes that just happen to be meatless. The meatless ribs, collard greens, and veggie gumbo are among the menu highlights. Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., Friday + Saturday 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. 1910 Wells Rd. Orange Park, FL; kravegan.com // @kraveganllc

The Walrus

With fun, psychedelic interior and a love for the Beatles that extends from a series of murals throughout the building to the name of the place itself (as in “goo goo g’joob”), The Walrus is a one-of-a-kind spot that also specializes in vegan sandwiches. Stop in for vegan takes on classic sandwiches like a Reuben, a caprese, and a turkey club, and stick around for a game of billiards or pinball, enjoy some live music or comedy, or even indulge in a drink or two from their extensive, creative menu of cocktails, smoothies, and juices. Sunday through Tuesday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday 11-12 a.m.; 948 Edgewood Ave. S Jacksonville, FL; thewalrusjax.com // @thewalrusjax

Vegan Cafe Jax

A relative newcomer to the vegan dining scene in Jacksonville, Vegan Cafe Jax’s scratch kitchen opened in 2021 and has quickly become a go-to spot for healthy eaters of all stripes. Crafted with an eye towards sustainability, healthfulness and flavor, the menu was shaped by a collaboration between a real deal medical doctor and head chef Matthew Bardroff. They work to make dishes that have “familiar flavors without the junk,” a noble goal that you’ll agree is worth the effort when you try their food. Monday through Friday 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.; 2624 Atlantic Blvd. Suite 3 Jacksonville, FL; vegancafejax.com // @vegancafejax
