As Summer approaches, so does the search for your perfect musical soundtrack, an endless pursuit for your own personal Summer jam. We handpicked five of our favorite up-and-coming Jacksonville artists that we think should be on your radar (and your speakers) this Summer.

Kairos Creature Club
Professing to be more than just your average four piece, Kairos Creature Club describe themselves as “a multilevel interrogative self-help program” playing “post world music.” Featuring members of some extremely good rock bands (most notably La Luz and BOYTOY), their debut EP, “Join The Club,” features guest appearances from a globe-spanning collection of musicians, including Sarah Palin (not that one), drummer for Swiss krautrockers One Sentence. Supervisor and Lucas Harwood, who plays bass in King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Australia’s psych rock gods. High conceptual framework and international collaborators aside, this Jacksonville-based postpunk band is one worth keeping an eye on. kairoscreatureclub.com // @kairoscreatureclub

L.O.V.E. Culture
In just a few years blissed-out hip hop collective L.O.V.E. Culture have more than earned their spot as favorites on the local scene, thanks to an immersive, egoless live show and constantly evolving sound. They released the kaleidoscopic, impressionistic full length “1827 N PEARL” last year to plenty of buzz, continuing the genre agnostic explorations of the Soulquarians, perhaps their closest musical ancestors. Their new single “GROWTH” is a smooth showcase of their disparate talents that somehow gels together into a cohesive whole. facebook.com/LOVECultureOfficial // @weareloveculture

Bebe Deluxe
Electro pop provocateur Bebe Deluxe combines irresistibly radiant production with acerbic lyrics about her experience as a trans woman. Informed by her background as a nightclub lounge singer, Bebe’s a perfect 21st century pop star: combining Peaches’ celebrations of body autonomy, the glossy electronic experimentation of Arca, and the blissed out irreverence of 100 gecs. Her latest single, “Hard Femme,” one of her strongest efforts to date, is the first track from her new concept album “Hard Femme /// Soft Butch,” which is set to drop this summer. bebe-deluxe.com // @bebe.deluxe

HUAN
Since 2019, HUAN has released a string of sun bleached, washed out R&B influenced pop gems. The latest nugget is “NEVERLAND,” a beachy, laid back love song which has quickly become a viral favorite across several popular streaming playlists. Earlier this year, they released a live session of the track, submitted to NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts, which captures HUAN and company’s effortless cool on video for all to witness. facebook.com/huanitofl // @juandrection

Teal Peel
Cozy bedroom indie project Teal Peel is of a kind with the current crop of lo-fi leaning slack rockers playing romantic, downtempo guitar rock like Hovvdy, Babehoven, and MJ Lenderman. The project is led by Jacksonville multi-hyphenate Taylor Neal, who has worked as both a producer and instrumental hired gun for tons of local standouts like Leo Sun, Corey Kilgannon, and Bobby Kid. Their undeniable debut single “Smello Coffee” has caught the attention of the algorithm gods, the track is currently featured on such high-profile Spotify playlists as Fresh Finds Indie and Today’s Indie Rock and is the perfect low-key soundtrack to a late night porch hang. tealpeel.bandcamp.com // @teal.peel
