27 of the Most Exciting Things To Do in Jacksonville in June

 

 

Summer of 2018 in Jacksonville came and went (quite quickly, I might add), and now we are officially in the summer season once again. So what does this mean? It means we want to play in the SUN. Saturday, June 1st

CSX Train Days – You may be thinking, ‘why would I want to pay $1 to ride a train?’ Well, it’s not JUST a train! You can have a delightful date by bringing your cutie pie to the Jacksonville Zoo, indulging in spectating some cool animals, and riding the train for a mere $1 (or $2 in this case). CSX employees will be driving the trains because they’re the pros. (Jacksonville Zoo // 9am – 6pm // $1 + Zoo Entrance Fee of $28.95)

Hinesville We’re Coming – If you’re willing to drive a little under 2 hours to get to Hinesville, Georgia, prepare for a treat with Cheesecaketopia! With flavors like Red Velvet, Strawberry Shortcake, Turtle, Banana Pudding, Birthday Cake, Pecan Pie, Sweet Potato, Key Lime, New York, and more, warm up those taste buds on the 1st of June! Adult Game Night – Hopefully y’all went to church in the morning because Adult Game Night is about to be WILD. Well, nothing too crazy, but there will be adult beverages so who knows? Barking About Bingo – Everybody likes a good, ‘ole classic game of bingo. But what can make it even better? Benefiting cats and dogs! DUH. Musical Improv – So the notoriously famous comedy spot in Jacksonville, Mad Cowford, has prepared their musical improv students to take the cake and put on a show at Jack Rabbits! They will be presenting an entirely unscripted, entirely improvised comedy show, turning songs in completely improvised musical games, scenes, stories. Share in some giggles with your pals. Art Walk – Visit downtown Jax for an afternoon of art, live music, food, AND Bold City’s annual release of Big John’s Apricot Wheat Ale! June Jax Veg Fest – Come get healthy at the Jax Veg Fest, a local grassroots festival devoted to environmental awareness, animal advocacy, and education. “Weird Al” Yankovic – If you haven’t heard of “Weird Al” Yankovic, (which I am sure many of you have not), he is bringing his Strings Attached Tour to Jacksonville! This features rock, comedy, costumes, props, a FULL orchestra, and HIGH ENERGY. If you’re ready to get rowdy and have a good time, head to St. Augustine this weekend for the show! Juneteenth in Jacksonville 2019 – Celebrating the freedom and emancipation of African Americans, Juneteenth in Jacksonville is a celebratory and fun event every year! Country Music Fest – The beautiful beach weather is already upon us, so why not embrace it with some good, ‘ole country music…outdoors…with food and beer? Sounds QUITE enticing. Dog Days of Summer Paw-ty – If it seems to you like Wicked Barley is always throwing fun parties, you’re RIGHT. This summer, prepare for the Dog Days of Summer Paw-ty! River City Wrestling Con 2019 – Northeast Florida’s first pro-wrestling fan convention is taking place at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds allll dayyy longgg.
