Tonight is no exception as they’ll be rocking Jax with Adelita’s Way, Stone Broken, and The Stir! Doors open at 6 PM for all ages at Mavericks Live as this rock act combines some amazing artists to put on quite the show.

– For anyone that has been trying to or wants to impress the ladies by being an awesome artist in touch with their senses (jk, guys), learning Acrylic Painting might be the way to do it! Come out to the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens from 1-4:00 PM

– From 1-4 PM, you get quite the cool spectacle at Catty Shack as you get a guided walking tour looking in on lions, tigers, cougars, leopards, and foxes! Daytime tours are every Thursday and it’s only $10 so go ahead and do it, if you’re free!

– Open to the public, the 2018 Bold City Best Awards Party is rolling out the red carpet for those who want to celebrate their business’s success. At the Florida Theatre, enjoy complimentary drinks, desserts, and live entertainment from The Band Be Easy. I even hear there is a Jags ticket giveaway….

– With a great reggae vibe, Zander is a perfect fit to perform at Surfer on Friday night, for free! If you’re looking to casually mingle and get your flirt on, go to Surfer at 10 PM, get a drink, and let Zander pull at your heartstrings.

– Who else loves block parties?! This Friday from 6-11 PM, Derby on Park is hosting a big ‘ole FREE block party to support our local broadcasting company, WJCT! The Margaret Street party starts at sundown and has free music, grilled food, craft beer, and good vibes.

– Ever read the book The Color Purple? It was a great story, so be prepared to watch a great musical, too, about love, forgiveness, and redemption for a family in rural Georgia. General admission is $28 but it’s half price with a valid student I.D. (so take your friend’s I.D.)! 8 PM is when it all goes down.

– We are all saving that doe so we can put down a deposit on a house one day. So why not discover the latest & greatest about home decor, design, and landscaping for the day we get that dream home?! It goes on all day, so swing by Prime F. Osborn Convention Center for all the deetz.

– Bringing together over 120,000 well-dressed gentlemen with STUNNING motorcycles, this year’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is the world’s largest charitable motorcycle event…and it’s right here in Jax! The goal is to raise awareness and $6M for prostate cancer research! Come peep a sick bike and support a good cause.

The Jets lost to the Browns, so (fingers crossed) this should be an easy victory for the Jags. The epic showdown between the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets is at 1 PM. Get your tickets, prep the beer kegs, plan a safe Uber ride downtown, and get ROWDY!

Monday, October 1

– It’s the 1st of the month, people, so let’s get our minds right as we start October with some yoga by Lindsay Robin! It’s only a $10 drop-in rate, so swing by 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu to get in the peaceful state of mind.

Tuesday, October 2

– Let’s pick pumpkins and sip on cider and munch on donuts and wear plaid… did that get anyone else excited for fall? From 10 AM – 2 PM on Tuesday, Conner’s A-maize-ing Acres is hosting this family fun while you do all those things on a 125-acre farm!

– With live music from top local musicians on Tuesday nights, That Bar at the Arena hosts this Jam Session from 9 PM-close. It’s free admission and opens to the public, AND musicians are welcome to play! If you have an instrument and think you’re any good, bring your skills to the show…or just watch and drink, like what I do…
